We are proud to announce that Agreka Build is now an official partner of the Greenest House Initiative, a pioneering project led by Office Ten Architecture, a London-based practice known for its dedication to the quiet power of preservation and renewal. Office Ten focuses on maximising existing spaces and adapting them to contemporary living, blending functionality with minimal environmental impact.
The Greenest House project offers an innovative solution to the UK's housing shortage by upgrading and retrofitting existing terraced homes rather than demolishing them. This approach not only preserves the community fabric but also delivers affordable, energy-efficient housing. With upgrades like enhanced insulation, triple glazing, solar panels, and air-source heat pumps, Greenest House can reduce a home’s space heating demand by up to 90%, drastically cutting carbon emissions and energy bills.

The project is built around a circular development model, where the value unlocked from redevelopment is reinvested directly into the building. This creates a sustainable cycle of improvement that fosters partnerships with forward-thinking suppliers in sustainable construction.
As part of the Greenest House Initiative, Agreka Build will contribute to this revolutionary effort by providing sustainable, circular insulation material WHEATEX® made from agricultural straw in Cheshire East, UK.
The project also features contributions from:
ADAPTAVATE – creators of breathable low carbon and carbon-negative construction materials, including plaster and plasterboard
Brouns & Co – specialists in natural linseed oil paints and finishes
Cleveland Steel & Tubes Ltd – leading suppliers of repurposed structural steel
EcoDuct Ltd - Transformative Ductwork Technology – manufacturers of pre-insulated, energy-efficient and low CO2 ductwork
Sisalwool – producers of natural fibre, breathable insulation
Ten & Sen – designers of sustainable, durable joinery and interiors
JAW Sustainability – dynamic consultancy providing specialist sustainability support
These partnerships are integral not only to the exhibition debut of Greenest House at Time Space Existence during the Venice Biennale, from 10th May to 23rd November 2025, but also to its next phase: a full-scale implementation on a live retrofit site. Office Ten Architecture’s bold vision is not limited to conceptual design. It is a blueprint for how we can reshape existing homes - and by extension, our cities - through collaboration, ingenuity, and an unwavering commitment to sustainability. We are looking forward to being part of this groundbreaking exhibition and to continuing our work towards a net-zero future.
